The Eurovision Song Contest (ESC) or often known simply as Eurovision, is an international songwriting competition, dating back to 1956, making it one of the longest-running TV programs of all time. It is consistently the most watched, live non-sporting event in the world, with over 180 million people tuning in. In 2022, it had grown to 40 participating countries, where each country sends 1 artist with 1 song to win it all. Kyle’s good friend, Leroy Sanchez, approached him about a smash hit he had written and wanted to take to Eurovision for his home country of Spain. He enlisted Kyle’s choreographic genius and together they created a superstar, they created a performance that Spain or Eurovision had never seen…ultimately, they created history.
Teaming up with an artist like Dove has been an absolute honor. After Dove won Best New Artist at the 2022 MTV VMAs, Kyle knew that this next award show performance had to raise the bar. Well that wouldn’t be difficult to achieve after learning that he’d be teaming up with Lighting & Creative Director extraordinaire Rob Sinclair again. Together, the entire team created a stunning and show-stopping performance. Working with top-tier professionals like Rob, Max Berstein (MD) & Dove…just make it possible to do the impossible.
Benidorm Festival is Spain’s multi-day long competition, to determine their representative for Eurovision’s annual song contest. At the beginning of 2022, Kyle’s good friend, Leroy Sanchez, approached him with a freshly written hit song and recruited him for the choreography. The goal…”Let’s try to win Eurovision.” The problem…”We need an artist.” Together, they discovered Chanel, worked tirelessly for weeks and the rest is Spanish History.
Kyle was so excited when he was reached with an opportunity to not only make his return to the MTV VMA stage, but to have it be with such an important artist like Dove. Against all time constraints, this performance was a smash and was the catalyst for what is now a dream team like no other. Dove is not afraid to let her voice be heard and, through her music, empowers her listeners to embody that same confidence. Kyle is so proud with how this performance came together and is looking forward to creating more iconic works with Dove.
Not only was this a special job for Kyle because JLo has become such an icon in the industry, but he also had the pleasure of working alongside his career mentors NappyTabs. Napoleon & Tabitha have become legendary Creative Directors and Kyle has been working under them and learning from them for 6+ years. Being Supervising Choreographer for a Las Vegas residency show was an experience like no other and the show was captivating from start to finish.
Working with NSync was a surreal experience for Kyle. “I don't have many words but I will never forget this job. It was an honor to work with Ariana Grande and choreograph for boy band legends like themselves.” To be a part of Nsync’s first performance back in over 15 years was a career high for Kyle and one of his proudest moments.
When Creative Director legends and Kyle’s longtime mentors, NappyTabs, called Kyle with another Disney job he couldn’t say yes fast enough. Kyle is a huge Disney fan and he’s loved choreographing for the beautiful Sofia Carson for the past few years. Along with the huge and amazing cast of dancers, all these factors made this job such a fun and exciting experience.
This award show performance was fun to put together. Kyle had limited time leading up to this one, but created amazing visuals, shapes and pictures from start to finish. Kyle loves choreographing for award shows because they celebrate music and highlight dancers/choreography in an amazing way.
